Grounding device
Grounding is the foundation of lightning protection. The grounding method specified in the standard is to lay horizontal or vertical grounding electrodes with metal profiles. In areas with strong corrosion, the method of galvanizing and increasing the cross-sectional area of metal profiles can be used to resist corrosion, or non-metallic conductors can be used as grounding electrodes, such as graphite grounding electrodes and Portland cement grounding electrodes.
Downlead
When the lightning arrester receives lightning, a large amount of lightning current enters the ground through the downlead, which will produce inductive lightning in the surrounding conductor, so the downlead with shielding effect is pushed out. It must be pointed out that the inductive lightning is mainly caused by the electrostatic induction of the thundercloud. Only shielding the downlead has little effect, but the shielding effect of all wires must be strengthened to weaken the inductive lightning.
